SRS is a free, open-source voice communication program (VOIP) primarily for DCS World. It allows players to communicate realistically through their in-game aircraft radios, essentially mimicking real-world radio procedures by utilizing different frequencies and radio capabilities depending on the aircraft they are flying; it functions similarly to TeamSpeak or Discord but makes comms sound realistic, and is specifically designed to integrate with DCS World's radio systems.

If you are a VR player and you have a hard time seeing your keyboard with your headset on, VoiceAttack allows you to simply say what you want to do, and VoiceAttack will do it for you. You simply setup voice commands, and then tell Voice Attack what keystrokes to send to the screen. So for example, you could say the words, “Landing Gear Down” and Voce attack will send the ‘G’ key, and your gear will start to come down in the sim. This is a required piece of software if you want to use my Virtual Crew Chief addon.

OvGME is a mod manager. It can be used with DCS to instantly install or uninstall any mod or livery you have instead of painstakingly moving folders and files around your system. This takes a little bit of time to configure, but once it’s setup, it’s as easy as clicking on the mod or livery you want to install in DCS, and clicking “Install” and all the files are automatically placed where they should be in DCS. Voicemod is a real time voice filter for your audio input. If you are wanting to record video of your flights, all other comms will come in through the simulation’s filter and sound like all the other players are on the radio talking to you, but your voice sounds like you’re at your computer desk speaking into a regular microphone. If you want your voice to ALSO sound like you’re speaking over the comms of your jet, voicemod will take your audio input and filter it for you live.

If you are struggling with AAR (Air to Air Refueling) then you are probably struggling with formation flying as well. Aerial Refueling is flying formation with the tanker. To get better at AAR, you need to get better at formation flying. d0ppler’s Formation Flying For Fast Jets mission is what I recommend to those pilots struggling with staying on the tanker.
